The Medical School Research Office is pleased to introduce the Greater MN Clinical Research Initiative. The purpose of this initiative is to expand access to a wide range of clinical trials to Minnesotans across the state. The initiative will focus on establishing and maintaining partnerships with physicians, hospitals and clinics across greater MN to facilitate collaborations that meet the needs and research interests of their organizations and communities. An important aspect of this is that studies will be implemented right at local hospitals and clinics, with the goal of eliminating the need for people to travel to the Twin Cities to participate in research studies.

This initiative will support both observational and interventional clinical research trials across disease areas and indications and will also include healthy volunteer studies. Currently, the initiative project team is developing opportunities for participants to enroll in clinical research focused on the unique challenges of aging. Drawing on the expertise of the Medical School’s state-supported Medical Discovery Team on Aging, the research study seeks to understand the impact of various interventions on health as participants experience aging.
