Cao lab awarded NIH R01 grant to study integrated stress response and the circadian clock!

This is the second R01 grant to the Cao lab investigating circadian rhythms and effects on health. In this project, the Cao lab investigates how dysregulation of cellular stress and daily rhythms can contribute to disease.

Cellular stress response is important for cells to respond to physiological stressors and maintain homeostasis. Its dysregulation is frequently found in human diseases accompanied by disrupted daily rhythms. Understanding the crosstalk mechanisms between stress response and biological timing will increase our understanding of the two fundamentally important biological processes and lay the foundation for advances in disease prevention and treatment.

Hao Lin, Abhishek Mishra, and Naveed Muhammad are post-doctoral associate who work under the director of Dr. Cao

Congratulations to the Cao lab!
