The Department of Biomedical Sciences secures funding to purchase a new imager

Kudos to Dr. Bemis and colleagues for securing funding to purchase a new imager for the Department of Biomedical Sciences (BMS).

Lynne Bemis, PhD, professor in the Biomedical Sciences, University of Minnesota, Duluth campus, received matching funding from the University of Minnesota Foundation to purchase a ChemiDoc MP Imager for the Department of Biomedical Sciences. This laboratory device will replace the current Alpha-Innotech machine that has served our labs well for over a couple of decades. The investment in this shared equipment is important since it supports our laboratories researchers and associated teaching program, who use it daily to analyze gels and western blots, as part of their research.

This purchase has been possible thanks to a team effort. Dr. Bemis is grateful for the support of several BMS Principal Investigators, as well as Drs. Regal and Heck, departmental leadership, who provided matching funds, as required to acquire this equipment. Thank you to everyone who contributed support for this award.
