Genome Engineering Discovery Day

Hosted by the Center for Genome Engineering, the Genome Engineering Discovery Day (GEDD) is an immersive educational program hosted on the University of Minnesota campus, bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world scientific research. Held at the Cancer and Cardiovascular Research Building, this initiative welcomes high schoolers from across the state to explore career opportunities within STEM fields through interactive dialogues, resource expos, hands-on learning, and laboratory immersion.

Target Audience & Group Accomodation

Our target demographic is high school students in AP Biology/Biology focused classes, who are passionate about science fields!

We can accommodate ~100 students

GEDD Schedule

1st Hour- Welcome and Overview

2nd Hour- Table Talks (Lunch Break)

3rd Hour- Experiments/Lab Tours
