David Masopust, PhD, is a McKnight University Professor in the Department of
Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Minnesota Medical School, where he
serves as Associate Director of Research for the University of Minnesota Institute on
Infectious Diseases (UMIID) and Co-Director of the Center for Immunology (CFI).
After earning his PhD in Microbiology from the University of Connecticut Health Center
with Leo Lefrancois and completing postdoctoral training at Emory University with Rafi
Ahmed, Dr. Masopust established his laboratory at Minnesota in 2007. His group's work
focuses on understanding T cell memory, mucosal immunity, and tissue-resident T cell
responses to infection, cancer, and vaccination. Beyond research, he is deeply
committed to institutional service, fostering interdisciplinary collaborations across the
university, and mentoring the next generation of immunologists.
