Education & Training
The University of Minnesota is home to a diverse community of microbiologists and immunologists across several departments and colleges. The Department of Microbiology and Immunology offers an undergraduate degree in Microbiology and administers the interdisciplinary PhD program in Microbiology, Immunology, and Cancer Biology.

Major in Microbiology
The BS in microbiology prepares students for advanced work in graduate programs in the biological sciences and serves as preparation for careers in the health sciences.

Minor in Microbiology
The College of Biological Sciences (CBS) offers a 14 credit microbiology minor.

PhD Program in Microbiology, Immunology and Cancer Biology
The Microbiology, Immunology and Cancer Biology (MICaB) PhD Graduate Program provides outstanding training for students with a passion for research in the basic biological and biomedical sciences.
