Apply to MINDs

Use this link to express interest in the MINDS program and sign up for our mailing list, which we will use to share the link for our virtual open house on February 6, 2024 (6:00 pm CST).

To apply to MINDS, fill out this online form, which will require you to upload the following documents:

• CV or Resume
• Unofficial College Transcripts
• One written statement (2 page maximum, single spaced, 11 pt Arial or Times New Roman font) that includes your personal background; research interests; long-term goals; how MINDS will help you achieve your goals; and your commitment to advancing marginalized researchers in neuroscience
• Two letters of recommendation should be emailed separately by the recommender to minds@umn.edu: and include the applicant's name in the email subject line.

All application materials including letters of recommendation are due by March 1st, 2024 at 11:59 PM (PST)

Application Timeline:

January 2024: Formal call for applications

February 6, 2024: Virtual open house (6:00 pm CST)

March 1, 2024: Applications deadline (11:59 pm PST)

March, 2024: Invitations to virtual interviews

April, 2024: Offers sent to participants 

April, 2024: Deadline to respond to offers of admissions (5:00pm CST) 

July 31, 2024: Program start date 

August 2024: Lab rotations in potential research labs of interest begins
