Journal Club
Audience: CA-1, 2 & 3 residents
Topic: Critical care medicine and cardiothoracic anesthesia
Goals & Objectives:
- Each journal club session will be 1.5-2 hours in duration, with 2 CA-2 residents leading the journal club and at least 2 faculty moderators
- Each CA-2 resident leading the journal club will be assigned an article to present
- The "lead" CA-2 residents will work with their assigned faculty mentor to ensure critical aspects of the studies are understood/addressed before the JC
- Additional goals to improve JC participation & enhance discussion:
- Attendance at the resident-led journal clubs each year is considered mandatory for all residents
- Every resident will be expected to read the articles & have a question or comment on at least one of the 2 journal articles, and to participate in the discussion
- Residents are all expected to review the resource for manuscript review (attached) provided to better understand the process of analyzing a study
