Verification of Training
Verification of Residency or Fellowship Training at the University of Minnesota
The verification of residency or fellowship training at the University of Minnesota is managed directly by the specific residency or fellowship program where the training was completed. For accurate and efficient processing of verification requests, please refer to the "Verification of Training" contact list, which provides the necessary contact information for all University of Minnesota Graduate Medical Education (GME) programs. This list includes ACGME-accredited programs, non-ACGME-accredited programs, and those accredited by other governing bodies.
It is important to note that the Office of Graduate Medical Education does not complete training verification forms. All inquiries and requests should be directed to the respective program.
Verification of Medical Education
For verifications related to medical education, the preferred method is through the National Student Clearinghouse Verification Services, which confirms an alumnus’s dates of attendance and degree earned. This is the fastest and most reliable method to obtain these details.
Alternatively, the Registrar's Office can also verify dates of attendance and MD degrees earned. Currently, there is no fee for this service. Please note:
- Verifications must be accompanied by a signed waiver authorizing the release of information.
- The waiver should include identifying details such as the individual’s date of birth or the last four digits of their Social Security number.
- The Registrar's Office can also verify records for students who matriculated at the Duluth campus.
To request verification from the Registrar's Office, send your signed waiver and verification request to [email protected].
