MOCA Part IV
M Simulation offers an 8-hour one-day course for up to 6 participants. The day will start with orientation to the simulation environment. During the rest of the day the participants will manage 7 operating room simulation scenarios.
Each participant will act as the main anesthesia provider at least once. The other participants may take the role of a secondary anesthesia provider, or play a role of OR personnel. All simulation scenarios will be recorded and debriefed immediately following the scenario.
This course is jointly provided by the American Society of Anesthesiologists and M Simulation.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course the participant will be able to:
- Demonstrate principles of good communication skills, teamwork and leadership during critical perioperative events.
- Practice expert management of hemodynamic and respiratory instability in patients in a perioperative setting.
- Manage operating room environment and patients in a manner, which prevents possibility of OR fires.
- Describe management of ethically challenging clinical scenarios.
