Dr. Hai Dang Nguyen receives AARC and NHI awards
Dr. Hai Dang Nguyen has received two awards.

Dr. Nguyen received the 2022 American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Career Development Award to Further Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Cancer Research, a three-year grant (2022-2025) to support the development of highly talented cancer researchers from underrepresented groups. This award will allow Dr. Nguyen to represent our underrepresented research community in medicine and to promote a diverse and collaborative team with the goal of finding the cure for cancers and alleviating the health disparities in cancer patients. The Dang laboratory uses a multi-disciplinary approach to elucidate genetic mechanisms of cancers to develop novel targeted anti-cancer therapies. In addition, Dr. Nguyen was awarded a five-year R01 grant from National Institutes of Health to unravel the mechanisms and therapeutic opportunity in Myelodysplastic Syndromes.
