The Journal of Critical Care is calling for papers for their special issue “AI in Critical Illness”, which will cover:

Artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science are ubiquitous in health science research. These terms are broadly used and may be misapplied. AI and analytics-based research and healthcare products are of varying quality. Critical care involves extensive patient monitoring, generating large amounts of data which are increasingly being used to create analytical tools that may directly impact patient care. While AI has the potential to revolutionize patient care in intensive care units, models that are biased, of poor quality, are misapplied, or poorly implemented have the potential to harm critically ill patients.

Submissions are due August 1, 2023. Submit through the journal's website and select "VSI: AI in Critical Illness" for the article type.
