Pediatric Dermatology Fellowship
The Pediatric Dermatology Fellowship will be a combination of experiential, research and didactic experience. Experience includes primarily pediatric dermatology clinic, with allocated procedural and elective time. There is opportunity to participate in related clinics such as neurofibromatosis, rheumatology and patch testing. The fellow will have a continuity clinic and dedicated research time. Participation in dermatology grand rounds, pediatric dermatology divisional rounds, and pediatric residency instruction is expected.
Fellows are encouraged to participate in research and there are ongoing projects within the Division. A unique project for the year is encouraged, and attendings and mentors will help the fellow develop goals, objectives and a plan. One half-day per week can be devoted to projects and research. The essential learning activity for the fellow is interaction with patients under the guidance and supervision of pediatric dermatology and other faculty. As fellows gain experience and demonstrate growth in their ability to care for patients, they assume roles to exercise those skills with greater and graded independence and responsibility. Supervision in the fellowship assures the provision of safe and effective care to the individual patient and facilitating the fellow’s development of the skills, knowledge, and attitudes required to enter the unsupervised practice of pediatric dermatology.
We will accept applications for the 2024-2025 fellowship year through the San Francisco match.
