Fellowships

Fellowships are offered by the Department of Ophthalmology in the subspecialty areas of pediatric ophthalmology, oculoplastic and orbital surgery, neuro-ophthalmology, medical and surgical vitreoretinal and anterior segment. 

Our fellowship programs are recognized for the quality and breadth of experience they afford, in addition to institutional affiliations with other departments.

Cornea, External Disease Fellowship

This fellowship emphasizes medical and surgical treatment of corneal and external disease, and management of intraocular lens complication, as well as other complications of cataract surgery.

Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship

The University of Minnesota two year Oculoplastic and Orbital Surgery Fellowship Program is sponsored by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS).

Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus Fellowship

A one year program beginning in July. It is approved by the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.

Neuro-Ophthalmology Fellowship

A one-year fellowship administered under the sponsorship of the University of Minnesota and the Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology (AUPO). Our program matriculates one fellow each year.
