He developed a database driven visualization application during his medical school anatomy class, and later participated in a summer internship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Currently, his interests are in head and neck, prostate, and gynecological cancers.
Hobbies: On the weekends, Dr. Jang enjoys biking, skiing, cooking, and renovating his house.

Academic Interests: Dr. Smith's interests include mechanisms of cancer resistance to therapies due to tumor heterogeneity and signaling network resilience to targeted inhibition, pharmacologic modulation of protein-protein interactions, quantitative MRI through physics model inversion to improve noninvasive tumor diagnosis and characterization, elucidation of synergy between immunotherapies and radiotherapy, and appropriate design and application of non-linear statistical tests to clinical data.

Academic Interest: I have always been fascinated by cancer treatment and exploring innovative approaches to its management. Concurrently, I dedicated myself to honing my leadership abilities. My future objectives include leveraging AI to drive innovation within academia, while also serving as a mentor for the next generation of leaders.
