Academic interest: During residency Dr. Rossetti-Chung has examined how low dose radiation influences cancer responses to immunotherapy. After residency, he plans to share his passion for radiation oncology by serving and teaching in either a community or academic setting

Hobbies: Outside of work, Dr. Rossetti-Chung enjoys cycling, storytelling, painting, and gardening.

Colton Gits, MD

Colton Gits

Major: Integrated Science Program, Chemistry

Medical School: Washington University in St. Louis

Internship: Internal Medicine, University of Utah

Academic interest: Dr. Gits’ research interests include the application of radiomics to predict clinical response to lung SBRT, and he is devoted to improving resident learning and well-being through the university-wide Resident Leadership Academy. He intends to pursue a clinical career after residency.

Hobbies: Growing up in Minnesota, Dr. Gits has a strong connection to the outdoors, including road and mountain biking, hiking, and climbing. He has also really started to enjoy gardening.

Sherif Shaaban, MB ChB

Sherif Shaaban

Internship: Internal Medicine, Mansoura University Medical Center, Egypt

Academic Interest: Dr. Shaaban moved to the United States and joined MD Anderson as a research fellow where his research focused on the combination of immunotherapy and radiation therapy in lung cancer. He has an interest in pediatric tumors and proton therapy.

Hobbies: Dr. Shaaban enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as watching WWE and soccer games.

Academic interest: Since beginning residency, Dr. Zhang has begun to develop a research interest in the management of head and neck malignancies.

Teresa Easwaran, MD

Teresa Easwaran

Internship: General Surgery, Indiana University

Academic interest: During Dr. Easwaran’s time at IU, she was one of 60 medical students in the country who was awarded a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Fellowship from 2016-2017, where she studied homeostatic mechanisms that regulate synaptic plasticity in Dr. Alex Kolodkin's laboratory at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She was also awarded both the Marilyn Hester and William Wright Scholarships through the IU Simon Cancer Center for her research in adult and pediatric gliomas. Her clinical interests include gliomas and epilepsy.

Hobbies: Outside of work, Dr. Easwaran enjoys running, yoga, baking, classical music, and coaching/volunteering with the Special Olympics with her brother.

Academic interest: Dr. Sun started her residency with University of Minnesota on July 1. 2020. Her academic interests remain broad, but she has been enjoying the learning process and discovering where her interests lie.
