Dr. Burns was born and raised in Montana, living there until moving to Orlando, Florida to complete his undergraduate studies in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Central Florida Burnett Honors College. He then moved to Baltimore, Maryland to pursue his medical degree at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. After graduating and completing his internship at the University of Maryland Midtown Campus, he returned to Johns Hopkins to pursue his residency training in Dermatology. As a resident, Dr. Burns received extensive training in numerous dermatologic subspecialties as well as general dermatologic care and developed his enthusiasm for treating a wide range of dermatologic conditions.
As part of the University of Minnesota Department of Dermatology, Dr. Burns is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care utilizing evidence-based approaches to individualize treatment. In addition to his clinical care, Dr. Burns is also dedicated to mentoring and training the next generation of dermatologists.
