Dr. Alexandra Diaz is a Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Minnesota where she also serves as Director of the residency program. Board-certified in Radiation Oncology, Dr. Diaz specializes in gastrointestinal and genitourinary malignancies, with a strong focus on clinical trials, and multidisciplinary cancer care. Dr. Diaz earned her medical degree from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia, and completed her residency in Radiation Oncology at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she also earned a Master’s in Clinical and Translational Investigation. Dr. Diaz previously worked at The Ohio State University where she was actively involved in institutional as well as national clinical trials. Additionally, she participates in many national oncology organizations, including ASTRO, ASCO, and the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology, and is recognized for her commitment to education, global health and clinical excellence. Dr. Diaz has received multiple honors, including the Castle Connolly Top Doctor Award and ARRO Educator of the Year.
