Dr. Leslie Chang is an Assistant Professor and Associate Director of Clinical Safety and Quality in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Minnesota Medical School. She specializes in pediatric brain tumors, pediatric and young adult sarcomas and thoracic cancers. Dr. Chang is a rising leader in radiation oncology with a focus on patient safety, quality improvement, and decreasing disparities in cancer care. Her work has been recognized with multiple institutional and national awards, including the University of Minnesota Physicians Clinical Excellence Honoree and the ACGME Lewis Blackman Patient Safety Award. Her research interests include improving neurocognition in the treatment of pediatric brain tumors and investigating novel applications of radiation in the treatment of sarcoma and thoracic malignancies as well as new indications of radiation in inflammatory diseases. Dr. Chang is actively engaged in national leadership roles and serves on multiple committees for the Children's Oncology Group (COG), American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO), American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), and the American Radium Society (ARS).
