Call for Applications: MN-LHS Embedded Scientist Training & Research Program
The Minnesota Learning Health System (MN-LHS) program is now accepting applications for its Embedded Scientist Training & Research Program. This two-year, mentored program is designed to equip scholars with the skills and expertise to conduct research that improves healthcare systems. The program is a statewide collaboration between five leading healthcare systems in Minnesota—Essentia Health, HealthPartners, Hennepin Healthcare, M Health Fairview, and Minneapolis VA—working together to advance learning health systems research. Scholars will be embedded within one of these health systems, gaining hands-on experience conducting research that directly informs and improves clinical practice.
This opportunity is ideal for active clinicians, clinician-researchers, junior faculty, academic healthcare researchers, and mid-career researchers who are passionate about learning health systems science, quality improvement, and implementation research. Applicants must have a defined research project idea at the time of application, though details may evolve through mentorship and training. While prior research experience is beneficial, it is not required—this program is structured to support scholars at varying levels of experience with dedicated mentorship, structured coursework, and an engaged learning community.
Key Details:
- Application Deadline: April 30, 2025
- Program Start Date: January 1, 2026
- Scholar Selection: One scholar will be chosen from each of the five partner sites.
