How We Work
CLHSS is dedicated to advancing learning health systems by addressing key challenges in healthcare delivery. Our process includes identifying these challenges, gathering evidence, implementing meaningful changes, and evaluating their impact.
CLHSS has diverse programs and healthcare research initiatives that span clinician support, education, and cutting-edge healthcare data infrastructure. Through our work, we aim to drive sustainable improvements in healthcare outcomes.
Our Impact
CLHSS has supported a number of investigators in their work to improve healthcare delivery and research. These projects, including a patient portal tool, in-patient rounding software, and targeted ambulatory care intervention have already impacted thousands of patients across Minnesota. Our education activities continue to grow, reaching more clinicians and researchers through our annual conference, MN-LHS program, online courses, and events.
Over the Past 4 Years
In 2021, the University of Minnesota Medical School and School of Public Health partnered to establish CLHSS, the first partnership of its kind in Minnesota. Since then, CLHSS has continuously grown and reached a wider audience across Minnesota’s health systems.
We’ve made structural changes to our healthcare research initiatives that reflect their maturation and our renewed focus on data science, social and behavioral sciences, and patient and community engagement. Additionally, we expanded and diversified our funding to enable new collaborations and further research and education.
