Hometown: Assiut, Egypt.
Medical School: Assiut University Faculty of Medicine, Egypt.
Medical/Professional Interests: Hematopathology, cytogenetics, molecular pathology, and research. I’m also enjoying exploring AP, especially surgical pathology and frozen sections, where pathology findings can directly guide patient care. I enjoy teaching and mentoring.
What attracted you to UMN? The excellent AP/CP training and academic opportunities attracted me, but the welcoming and supportive people made UMN feel like a second family.
If you weren’t a physician, what would you do? Something creative, like storytelling or filmmaking! I love bringing ideas to life and making learning engaging. I’ve also dreamed of being a pilot and flying around the world!
If you could spend a week anywhere, where would it be? I’d love to spend a week in Santorini, Greece, enjoying the beautiful views and exploring the island. I also love Disney World, and I have a goal of visiting all 50 states—I’ve made it to ten so far!
Hobbies: I enjoy traveling and discovering new places, meeting people, and experiencing different cultures. I also enjoy cycling, swimming, cooking and sharing traditional Egyptian dishes, and of course, shopping!
What do you like most about Minnesota? The welcoming community, beautiful lakes and parks, and the opportunity to explore the Twin Cities and beyond.
