Dr. Abdul completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Minnesota and earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She then completed a Pediatric Internship at the Mayo Clinic and a PM&R Residency at the Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital in Michigan. Additionally, Dr. Abdul completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Most recently, she served as a Sports Medicine Attending Physiatrist at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio.
Dr. Abdul’s clinical interests include caring for athletes and active individuals of all ages with injuries or functional impairment, non-operative management of musculoskeletal conditions such as osteoarthritis, tendon or soft tissue injuries and nerve entrapment, diagnostic and interventional musculoskeletal ultrasound, orthobiologic and regenerative treatments, and sports-related concussions
Her academic and research interests focus on medical education, characterizing the role of inflammation on musculoskeletal pathology, orthobiologic and regenerative medicine, precision medicine in non-operative orthopedics, and the effective utilization of musculoskeletal ultrasound.
