Dr. Chu is an anatomic and molecular pathologist with a keen interest in the genomic underpinning of thyroid, sinonasal, and salivary gland neoplasms. Since residency, she focused her research on head and neck cancer, earlier on toward the study of non-coding RNAs and kinase fusions in thyroid carcinoma, and more recently investigating the transcriptomic landscape of diagnostically challenging sinonasal and salivary gland carcinomas. Her research has been utilizing conventional and next-generation genomic diagnostics in characterizing the histologic correlates and therapeutic implications of tumor-associated molecular aberrations, with a commitment to better understanding head and neck oncogenesis.
