Shijia Zhu, PhD, has joined LMP as an assistant professor in computational biology and bioinformatics.

Zhu comes to LMP from the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He earned MS and PhD degrees in computer science and technology, Harbin Institute of Technology, China.

Zhu was a postdoctoral fellow and then a senior scientist in the Department of Genetics and Genomic Sciences and Icahn Institute for Genomics and Multiscale Biology, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York.

Zhu maintains the Genotype-imputed Gene Set Enrichment Analysis software tool (GIGSEA), a novel bioinformatics resource.
