SCI faculty member creates a cell line that can rapidly produce SARS CoV-2 spike proteins.

Wei-Shou Hu, College of Science and Engineering professor and an SCI faculty member, is working with researchers in the University of Minnesota Medical School to create a cell line that can rapidly produce SARS CoV-2 spike proteins.  Many researchers across the United States and the world need these viral proteins to study the structure and chemistry of the virus, perform immune response research, and develop vaccines. This method developed in Hu's lab works faster than other methods and saves a lot of labor.  Learn more.
