Walter Low and colleagues receive new NIH funding to study the relationship between the SARS-CoV2 virus and long term neurological disease.

Walter Low, SCI faculty member, Ling Li, and Maxim Cheeran received a 5-year NIH grant to study the acute and long-term impact of SARS-CoV2 infection on cognitive function and neuropathology in mice.  The mice will have the APOE gene variant that is associated with a higher risk of Alzheimer's disease, and which has recently been shown to be prevalent in people who suffered severe neurological symptoms with COVID-19 infections.  Read more.
