As a Principal Investigator at UMN, my research team explores how the innate immune system regulates chronic cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. We map the diverse biology of monocyte recruitment and tissue macrophages in development and disease to understand how they handle lipids, inflammation, stressors, and respond to systemic environmental cues. Our core discoveries aim to unlock novel therapeutic targets to halt and reverse arterial atherosclerosis and other cardiometabolic diseases.
