The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology announces the appointment of Michelle Stoffel to our faculty as an assistant professor effective September 30.

Stoffel is an anatomic and clinical pathologist who comes to us from the Department of Biomedical Informatics and Medical Education at the University of Washington.

An Iowa native, Stoffel earned an MD degree from the University of Kansas Medical School, where she also earned a PhD in pharmacology and an MS in clinical informatics and patient-centered technologies. She was chief pathology resident at the University of Wisconsin 2018-2019.

Stoffel uses her clinical informatics training and her pathology background to bridge the communication gaps between the lab and other areas of medicine.
