LMP associate professor Paari Murugan has been inducted into the Academies for Excellence in Team Science.

The honor is “to acknowledge the valuable and significant contributions made by an exemplar interdisciplinary team conducting biomedical or health care research to address significant health challenges.”

Murugan said the award "represents the culmination of over a decade of interdisciplinary collaboration among our pathology, urology, biostatistics, and imaging research teams.  Throughout this period, our initiatives have focused on developing advanced imaging modalities—validated against pathological diagnostics and biomarker ground truths—to accurately predict the clinical behavior of prostate cancer."

The culture of scientific cooperation within the medical center is exemplary, Murugan said.  "This recognition serves as a formal testament to the group’s collective persistence and commitment to collaborative success over individual achievement. I am honored to contribute my technical expertise to these efforts."

He said he "looks forward to further expanding my impact within this distinguished team."

Murugan credits LMP's strategic investment in "state-of-the-art digital infrastructure" for enabling advances in team science.
