Your training in diagnostic radiology will include a unique blend of diverse cases at our four primary training sites. After residency, you will have the skills to be an outstanding, board-certified radiologist who can function easily in busy and diverse practice settings.
As an Interventional Radiology-Integrated resident, you will learn how to manage patients from pre-procedural assessment through post-procedural follow-up. This includes rounding on inpatients and attending outpatient clinics.
Diagnostic radiology residents will match into our Interventional Radiology-Independent Residency positions at the end of their R3 (PGY-4) year and begin after completion of their R4 (PGY-5) year.
Our six fellowship programs will give you in-depth, diverse training in your specialty. We have ACGME fellowships for Neuroradiology, Nuclear Radiology, and Non-ACGME fellowships for Breast Imaging, Musculoskeletal Imaging and Thoracoabdominal Radiology.
Clinical clerkships in radiology are available at University of Minnesota Medical Center, Hennepin County Medical Center, and the Veterans Administration Medical Center. Research opportunities are available for interested medical students.
Observerships are available to LCME-accredited Medical School graduates or international equivalents to gain knowledge and exposure to patient-care protocols by observing a residency or fellowship program. This includes individuals currently enrolled in an international residency program.
