Faculty Spotlight: Ulas Uncu, MD
Dr. Ulas Uncu was born in Istanbul, Türkiye and spent most of his youth there until leaving for medical school in Ankara. He came to the Department of Radiology in 2024 as a fellow, and we are happy to welcome him to the Thoracoabdominal Imaging division faculty. He will also be doing some work in Nuclear Medicine.
The combination of nuclear and body radiology is Dr. Uncu’s “dream job,” since his primary interest is oncologic imaging, particularly colorectal cancer, lymphoma and neuroendocrine tumors. He was drawn to the collegial atmosphere, challenging cases and advanced imaging modalities of the radiology department and aspires to be a great teacher in order to pass the torch along to the next generation.
Dr. Uncu enjoys sci-fi novels, indie movies and travel. Though now that he has a toddler daughter, his hobbies have mostly been replaced by Leo Lionni books, Paw Patrol, and chasing after her in parks!
