Dr. Bernadette Gillick's Contributions to the Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain

Bernadette Gillick, PhD, MSPT, PT, has dedicated over 20 years of clinical and research experience to test new interventions using non-invasive brain stimulation to investigate cortical plasticity and recovery from neurologic insult in both adult and pediatric populations.

The Gillick Pediatric Neuromodulation Research Lab helps stroke-impaired children increase their motor function by using electric and magnetic currents to stimulate brain cells in combination with behavioral therapies. The Gillick Lab is funded by prestigious sources, such as the National Institutes of Health, and is one of very few labs in the world doing this particular work. The lab was recently featured in the University of Minnesota's recent Medical Bulletin highlighting the kind of work the University's new Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain will perform to keep kids’ brains at their best.
