University of Minnesota Medical Center
University of Minnesota Medical Center is truly the nucleus of the urology residency training program. From oncology to reconstruction, infertility to female urology, every major urological discipline is represented at this training site. This broad spectrum of offerings gives our residents a unique and rigorous learning opportunity.
Hennepin Healthcare
Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) is the site of Minnesota's premier Level 1 pediatrics and adult trauma center. HCMC serves as the largest safety net hospital in Minnesota, providing care for low-income, the uninsured, and vulnerable populations. Its mission is to partner with patients and their families to ensure access to outstanding care while improving health and wellness through teaching, patient and community education, and research.
University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital
University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital is a top-ranked academic children's hospital located on the west bank of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis. Urology residents rotate here during their fourth and fifth years.
Minneapolis VA Medical Center
The VA hospital, a tertiary referral center, is the most comprehensive health care facility for veterans in the entire Upper Midwest. This training site provides residents a broad diversity of exposure with an emphasis both on office/ambulatory and operative urology.
Southdale Hospital
As the largest suburban hospital in the M Health Fairview network and a designated Level III trauma center, Southdale offers residents a dynamic and growing environment for clinical education. Located in Edina, the hospital features a robust robotics program and provides comprehensive exposure to general urology, endourology, female urology, and advanced robotic procedures.
Ridges Hospital
Located in Burnsville, Minnesota, Ridges is a community hospital that serves a suburban population in the outer ring of the Twin Cities. The hospital features an active general urology service, with high volumes of patients presenting with kidney stones, common urologic conditions, and cancer care needs. It is equipped with a robotic surgical system, allowing residents to gain valuable experience in minimally invasive procedures alongside faculty.
