Grand Rounds

Every Wednesday, we offer learning opportunities for urology professionals throughout the community, both inside and outside the University. Grand Rounds presentations include a variety of lectures and case presentations on both research and clinically-pertinent urology topics.

Discuss advances in specific areas of urology, the most contemporary management of difficult case scenarios, and identify critical steps that would improve patient care. CME credits available.

Resident & Faculty Conferences

At these monthly conferences, residents and faculty learn more in-depth about the urology specialty and the latest advancements in the field. 

Core curriculum conferences

Department of Urology faculty, other U Medical School faculty, and community physicians present lectures. Covers a broad range of topics from Campbell-Walsh urology textbook and AUA core curriculum. You’ll be exposed to each topic at least twice.

Morbidity & Mortality Conference

At this monthly conference, residents and department faculty discuss clinic numbers and case write-ups. They determine the Clavien Classification of various commonly encountered complications in order to critically analyze and identify areas for clinical improvement. The conference is open to Department of Urology residents and faculty only.
 

Morning Conferences

Two additional learning opportunities are offered for our department’s faculty, staff, residents as well as other physicians:

Indications Conference 

Gives Department of Urology faculty, staff and residents an opportunity to present and discuss upcoming urology cases.

Genitourinary Multidisciplinary Conference

Gives department faculty, staff, residents and other physicians the chance to comprehensively discuss urology oncology cases as a team.

Journal Club

Moderated by Philipp Dahm, MD, and Eduardo Fernandes, MD, Journal Club meets on the third Wednesday of every month to discuss and critique academic journal articles. Residents, faculty, community physicians, and other healthcare professionals are invited to attend.

Participants will learn to review the article and determine its scientific validity based on its cited statistics through robust group discussion.
