Dr. Fabien Meta is committed to helping athletes and active individuals return to the sports and activities that matter to them. His approach combines evidence-based surgical care with individualized treatment. Caring for patients and achieving the best possible outcome remains his highest priority.
Dr. Meta enjoys being involved in the local sports community and sideline coverage. He currently serves as a team physician for the Minnesota Twins and St. Paul Saints, as well as local schools in the area. He is also a current member of the medical staff for the University of Minnesota. Previously, during his training, he served as an assistant team physician for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Rochester FC, and the Austin Bruins.
Dr. Meta remains active in academic medicine through research and peer review. He has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on a broad range of sports medicine topics, including throwing-related shoulder and elbow injuries, baseball injuries, cartilage restoration, ACL injuries and reconstruction, meniscus injuries and repair, hip arthroscopy, and concussions. He also serves as an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Minnesota, where he educates and trains medical students, residents, and fellows.
Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Meta grew up enjoying the outdoors and has carried that with him to Minnesota. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, cycling on local trails, kayaking, and swimming during the summer. He is also an avid sports fan and stays active through strength training, recreational basketball, and golf.
