Dr. Fabien Meta is driven to empower athletes of all levels to stay in the game through expert surgical care, innovative treatment solutions, and a compassionate approach. He is dedicated to restoring mobility, enhancing function, and promoting recovery, ensuring every patient receives personalized attention and support on their journey back to the sports and activities they love.
The foundation of this care philosophy stems from his original mission to help others while pursuing his interests in biology and science. These are the pillars that his medical education is built upon.
Dr. Meta continues to remain active in academic medicine through research and journal peer review as well as continuing to educate the physicians of the future as an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at the University of Minnesota.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Meta's roots are in Detroit, Michigan. As a native Michigander, he learned to appreciate the outdoors. Now he is a proud Minnesotan and enjoys many of the same things such as hiking, exploring local trails on his bike, paddling through the many lakes in the Twin Cities on a kayak, and swimming during the hot summers.
Besides the outdoors, Dr. Meta loves attending sporting events, and remains active in the gym and plays recreational basketball and golf in his spare time. When he's not spending time with family, he is on the sidelines as a team physician for the St. Paul Saints and the Minnesota Twins, as well as local schools in the area.
