We are so excited to begin the 2025 residency recruitment season! We will start offering interviews on October 10th. Inquiries about your application status can be sent to umnpedsneurores@umn.edu after December 1st.

The Department of Neurology is offering virtual interviews for the 2024-2025 residency application cycle. We are unable to offer in-person interviews. Interviews will occur from late October and may extend to January 2025.

All Applicants

Completed applications through ERAS must include:

  • Three letters of recommendation from faculty members with whom you have worked
  • Dean's letter (MSPE)
  • Personal Statement
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Official Medical School Transcript
  • USMLE and/or COMLEX transcripts 

International Medical Graduates

Additional application criteria for our residency program for international medical graduates:

  • Must be ECFMG certified or have the ability to be certified prior to starting residency
  • Letters of recommendation from physicians practicing in the United States who are familiar with your clinical abilities are preferred.
  • We sponsor J-1 Visas

Our program is committed to training exceptional child neurology residents from all racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, gender, and sexual orientation backgrounds. 

Application Process

The Child Neurology Residency Program at the University of Minnesota participates in the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).  We only accept applications through the ERAS process.
