Meet Dr. Hicham Dabaja! We’re excited to welcome him as our newest epilepsy and pediatric neurology physician.

Hometown: Saida, Lebanon

Medical School: Lebanese University - Faculty of Medical Sciences

Residency: Flushing Hospital Medical Center

Fellowship: Epilepsy, Mayo Clinic

Why did you decide to work at the University of Minnesota? I chose the University of Minnesota because it offers the opportunity to serve children and families in a diverse community, including many who face barriers to care. I am especially motivated to strengthen epilepsy services here and to contribute to the development of a surgical epilepsy program for pediatric patients. I value the University’s collaborative environment and see it as a place where I can grow while helping build programs that make a meaningful difference for patients and their families.

What is your favorite Minnesota activity? Skiing 300 Vert.

Coolest/geekiest/most random thing about you? I named my dog after Bode Miller and my closet looks more like a ski shop than a wardrobe.

If you weren't a physician, you would be... Maybe a physicist, or a ski bum...Depends on the day.
