Fellowship Overview

BIMfellow

This is a one-year ACGME-accredited fellowship. Board-eligible/board-certified applicants from Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), Neurology, and Psychiatry are encouraged to apply. The fellowship is made possible through the collaboration of three sites across our current training landscape including: Minneapolis VA Health Care System, HennepinHealthcare, and Gillette Specialty Children's Healthcare. This partnership provides access to the entire spectrum of care from emergent evaluation and management at a nationally-recognized level 1 trauma center, to combat-related injuries typically only seen at VA medical centers, and to a pediatric-specific population at a site well known for its brain injury program. The fellowship year will provide exposure to inpatient and outpatient management, an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team, neuroradiology, and population-specific procedures such as spasticity management with botulinum toxin injections. The fellow will be responsible for direct patient care and will also provide supervision of residents within the University of Minnesota PM&R residency program. Faculty from all sites will provide mentorship for the fellow during their time in the program.
