Visiting Student Scholarship

The University of Minnesota Department of Urology Visiting Student Scholarship provides financial assistance to third- and fourth-year medical students planning to pursue a residency in urology. The scholarship is intended for students who have experienced educational, economic, or social disadvantage and/or come from medically underserved areas. Applications are welcome from all eligible students, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, or social identity. 

The selected students will receive a stipend of up to $1,500 to be used for their travel and/or housing expenses during their one month rotation at our site.

Application Requirements & Selection Process 

Completion of the traditional VSLO (Visiting Student Learning Opportunities, formerly VSAS) application requirement per the rotating institution. Selection will be based on a holistic approach. Students’ academic achievements, demonstrated leadership, academic research, urology interest, and good academic standings will all be considered when selecting candidates.
