Dr. Ece Meram joins us as an Assistant Professor in the Interventional Radiology division. She grew up in Gaziantep, in southeast Türkiye. She was one of the first graduates of Koç University School of Medicine, where she received her doctorate, before moving to the United States in 2016 to work as a research fellow and complete her Radiology training at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Dr. Meram enjoys that she deals with a wide range of pathologies, which have a major impact on patient care yet leave a minimal footprint. Her research interests include quantitative angiographic imaging (4D-DSA, quantitative DSA), interventional oncology (such as radioembolization and ablation), and venous diseases. She chose the University of Minnesota because of its diversity and collegiality, where it was clear to her that differences are cherished, both at an individual and institutional level.

Despite the hard winters, Dr. Meram, her husband Carson (a medical physicist from Fresno, CA), and their dog, Bumi (a labrador retriever rescue), enjoy being in the Midwest, where they love frequenting dog parks and hiking around the lakes. She enjoys traveling, yoga, ping-pong and painting, not to mention the jalapeno-cheddar scones at Honey & Rye!
