The Medical Physics division welcomed Dr. Kevin Treb in July. He comes to us from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, where he completed his Medical Physics residency in Diagnostic Imaging. He received his PhD from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Originally from Burnsville, MN, Dr. Treb grew up in the southern suburbs and wanted to return to Minnesota for the long term.

“My favorite aspect of my work is the combination of creative problem solving with direct and immediate impact. At UMN, I am eager to explore the imaging aspects of radiopharmaceutical therapy, specifically how advancements in quantitative imaging for patient-specific dosimetry could improve the standard of care.” Dr. Treb says the Department of Radiology stood out to him because of the mix of clinical and academic opportunities, as well as the friendly and welcoming environment.

Outside of work, Dr. Treb enjoys taking care of his dog and two cats, taking hiking trips to national parks, and attempting to learn new cooking skills. Find out more about Dr. Treb on his UMN Faculty bio.
