The Visible Heart® Laboratories offers numerous free mobile apps and VR simulators that allow users to explore the detailed anatomies and physiologies of human hearts. These tools cater to a wide range of audiences, including all levels of students (from STEM to residents), researchers, medical device innovators, various healthcare trainees and physicians. By providing access to detailed 3D computational models from real human anatomies, users of all ages can engage in optimal learning experiences to match a wide variety of learning styles.

We are grateful to the patients and their families who have uniquely gifted us the uses of these heart specimens for research and education, and to LifeSource and the University of Minnesota Anatomy Bequest Program for their assistance with organ procurement. Collaborations with the University of Minnesota’s Department of Anesthesiology, Department of Pediatrics, and Advanced Imaging Service for Objects and Spaces (AISOS), along with a long-standing academic partnership with Medtronic, significantly enhance the outreach and educational mission of the Visible Heart® Laboratories.
