What made you want to become a doctor? I wanted a career in which I used my knowledge and skills to make other people’s lives better and medicine has allowed me to do just that.

What sparked your interest in ENT/Otolaryngology? I found ENT as a third year medical student after shadowing multiple surgical subspecialties. At first, I felt my personality meshed well with the pediatric ENTs at my home institution and they became my mentors. Once I became more involved, I realized how much I enjoyed the types of surgeries ENTs perform to improve basic quality of life tasks such as speech, hearing, swallowing, breathing, and sleep.

Why did you choose the U of MN? The broad breadth and depth of the pediatric ENT experience including craniofacial as well as the mentorship provided by the amazing faculty.
