The University of Minnesota Department of Neurosurgery is hosting NeuroSafe 2019, the fourth annual symposium about improving the quality and safety of the practice of neurosurgery. It will be held August 8–9, in the McNamara Alumni Center on the U of M campus in Minneapolis and attracts neurosurgeons, residents, nursing staff, and quality professionals from throughout North America.

This symposium gives attendees an opportunity to learn about, discuss, and reflect upon what it takes to build high-quality, safe environments for neurosurgical patients.

Call for Abstracts
We invite you to submit an abstract for presentation during NeuroSafe 2019. Abstracts are to be less than 250 words long and must be submitted electronically using the Abstract Template to nsafe@umn.edu(Note: clicking here will take you to the Neurosurgery Department’s symposium page. The abstract submission template link is in the right-hand column. Clicking that link enables you to download the document to the folder of your choice.)

Key focus areas can include:

  • Improvement efforts across all practice settings
  • Outcomes and measures
  • Challenges
  • How to build the safest environments for neurosurgery patients throughout the world.

Attention, Residents!
We will select an abstract submitted by a neurosurgery resident to be presented as a keynote session. You can identify your interest in this opportunity by selecting the resident competition as part of your abstract submission.

Representatives from the University of Minnesota Neurosurgery Department will judge all entries. The abstracts will be used to select leaders for the resident keynote competition and individual breakout sessions.

The deadline to submit an abstract is February 28, 2019

Chosen abstracts will be included in the acceptance letter that will be sent via email by March 8, 2019.
