"Expanding Cleft and Craniofacial Education Through Virtual Simulation"

More on the University of Minnesota and Children's Minnesota cleft and craniofacial programs

The Cleft and Craniofacial program at Children's Minnesota and the University of Minnesota is unique to only a small number of Otolaryngology residencies and fellowships around the country. Our cleft and craniofacial surgeons perform all aspects of cleft/craniofacial care (including cleft lip, palate, mandibular distraction osteogenesis, speech surgery, craniosynostosis, and microtia). The residents get early exposure and understand the nuances of managing these unique patient populations, and the Pediatric Otolaryngology fellow and Facial Plastics and Reconstructive fellow work in a unique collaboration to learn these surgical cases.  The collaboration among the sub-specialties in Otolaryngology is a strength of our department.
