The University of Minnesota Medical School has officially begun the search for new Assistant Professor faculty members in the Center for Immunology.

About the Position

The Center for Immunology (CFI) at the University of Minnesota Medical School is seeking outstanding candidates for tenure-track Assistant Professor positions. CFI is an interdisciplinary unit dedicated to advancing the field of immunology and training the next generation of immunologists. Our mission is to coordinate and promote excellence in basic and translational immunology research, education, and clinical application across the University of Minnesota.

Located in the Wallin Medical Biosciences Building, CFI is part of the Biomedical Discovery District and maintains strong connections with laboratories across multiple departments and colleges. Faculty within CFI hold tenure homes in a variety of departments and engage in highly collaborative, cross-disciplinary research that drives scientific discovery in immunology.

Successful candidates will join a vibrant and interactive research community supported by outstanding core facilities, robust predoctoral and postdoctoral training programs, and a strong clinical research environment. New faculty will have access to excellent resources to establish and grow independent research programs while contributing to the broader mission of the Center.

Assistant Professors in CFI are expected to develop an innovative, externally funded research program in immunology, contribute to teaching and mentoring trainees, and engage in collaborative research efforts within the University of Minnesota community.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. in immunology or a related field
  • Demonstrated potential for outstanding scholarship in immunology research
  • Evidence of productive research training and/or postdoctoral experience
  • Commitment to mentoring and training students, trainees, and junior scientists
  • Strong potential for establishing an independent, federally funded research program

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in collaborative, interdisciplinary research environments
  • Strong publication record in peer-reviewed scientific journals
  • Evidence of innovation in research approaches or methodologies
  • Commitment to contributing to an inclusive and collaborative academic community
