Professor Kris Hogquist, Ph.D., was officially inducted into the National Academy of Sciences on Friday, April 28, 2023.  Induction into the National Academy of Sciences is a widely accepted mark of excellence in science, considered one of the most prestigious honors a scientist can receive. Members are elected to the National Academy of Sciences in recognition of their distinguished and continuing achievements in original research. Current NAS membership totals approximately 2,400 members and 500 international members, of which approximately 190 have received Nobel prizes.

Dr. Hogquist was recognized for her body of work on the thymus organ, which helps tell your immune system what and what not to attack.
