Eric Jensen, MD has been named head of the Division of Surgical Oncology. Dr. Jensen is currently an Associate Professor and will be promoted to Professor on July 1, 2020. He will be a crucial member of our department leadership team working towards our shared commitment to delivering the highest-quality patient care, rooted in the advancement of academic research. Dr. Jensen will help guide us as we build new research collaborations both in our department and across the Medical School.

Dr. Jensen emerged during the interview and search process as the right candidate to lead the surgical oncology division as we continue to expand our M Health clinical partnership during this critical time of transformational change. His vision is to lead the division and grow the M Health Fairview Surgical Oncology Program, integrating clinical trials and supporting basic research within the service line model. This will strengthen our ability to provide the best possible care for our patients with innovative treatment options.

Under Dr. Jensen's leadership, his commitment to our education mission will continue to be a priority. We are proud that our graduating residents continuously match to competitive surgical oncology fellowships and then go onto academic medicine careers.

Dr. Jensen's leadership will allow us to strengthen our ability to expand our multidisciplinary cancer care clinical practice, offer novel treatment options for our patients, and conduct research that improves the care of cancer patients. His care model of consistently putting patients first is something that we all must aspire to.

Congratulations Dr. Jensen!
