Our division's vision is to be the preeminent group of gastrointestinal and bariatric surgeons in Minnesota serving patients suffering from gastrointestinal or obesity-related conditions, utilizing novel and some of the most advanced surgical techniques to restore health, provide an exceptional care experience, and improve overall well-being.
Our teaching and training mission is to teach our residents, fellows, and medical colleagues about advanced interventions for gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery; to train our residents and fellows to have sound decision-making regarding patient-centered care; and to be able to provide least invasive interventions with a focus on maintaining or restoring health as well as improving overall well-being.
Our research mission is to perform and publish pioneering research in the fields of gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery.
The Advanced GI/Minimally Invasive Surgery fellowship is a one-year program with a heavy emphasis on all aspects of bariatric surgery.
