Understanding Breast Cancer Immune Infiltration With Multiplexed Tissue Imaging Using MIBI

Expression of the receptor for hyaluronan-mediated motility (RHAMM) has been observed to occur with a large degree of heterogeneity among breast cancer patients, and its overexpression has been linked with aggressive subtypes. In this webinar, Yuyu He and Grant Barthel of the University of Minnesota will discuss studies performed to understand the role of RHAMM in regulating the immune response of breast cancer and how they applied multiplexed ion beam imaging (MIBI) to characterize the immune infiltration in human breast cancer FFPE sections.

The presenters will discuss:

  • Enrichment of immune cells in RHAMM-associated tumor microenvironments (TME) — such as B cells, T cells, and macrophages.
  • The spatial relationship between tumor and immune cells within the RHAMM-associated TME.
  • Immune cell activities that are spatially associated with RHAMM expression.
